Phoenix Custom Websites

About

Built in Phoenix for local businesses.

We're a Phoenix web team, part of Phoenix AZ Ad Agency. Contractors and home service companies are our specialty, and we build for restaurants, shops, offices and nonprofits too.

Too many good businesses lose customers because their website looks old, broken, or doesn't exist. And too many get burned by web companies that hold their domain hostage or charge for every little change. We built Phoenix Custom Websites to fix that.

A word from Jason

Jason Kelly, Lead Developer, Phoenix AZ Ad Agency · about the agency

Who's talking

Let me give you a little background on my experience in this industry, and what I've seen from local, nationwide and international website companies along the way.

I've personally built around 500 websites, as the lead developer, hands-on from start to finish. At Phoenix AZ Ad Agency we run a lot of ongoing projects, and we're well known and established here in Arizona. I'd like to think people respect what we have to say. The few hundred clients who keep coming back to us for upgrades, advice and everything digital are the proof.

I don't want to dwell on that or sound full of myself. I just want you to know I've earned the right to say what comes next.

Prices have collapsed. Some companies haven't told you.

Website prices have collapsed. Local companies are still charging $5,000 for outdated sites that aren't built for search engines, or for AI assistants like Gemini and ChatGPT. To me and my team, that's almost criminal.

I know some people are going to have a hard time understanding that, but to me, it's almost as bad as what some universities are doing. They know certain programs are outdated, but they continue selling students on massive loans even when the jobs those students are preparing for are disappearing or entire sectors are being transformed by AI.

To me, it's criminal-adjacent. It's scam-adjacent. And I'm not afraid to speak out against it.

Why I care

When I started this company, I had no money. I mean that literally. I had to take odd jobs and work for some pretty unscrupulous people along the way, and if anything, those experiences taught me what kind of boss and business owner I never wanted to become.

So when somebody gives my company money, my first thought has never been, “What am I going to do with this money?” My first thought is gratitude that somebody trusted us enough to give it to us in the first place. I know what it's like to have nothing to your name, and I have never forgotten what $250, $500, $1,000, or $5,000 can mean to somebody who is trying to build a business.

Maybe none of that matters to you. Maybe you're thinking, “Hey, just do the work, man. Build me what I need.” And that's completely fine. We're happy to do exactly that. I tell my team all the time that we're really in the customer service business. Website design just happens to be one of the things we do extremely well.

But I think it matters here because this website builder is something new, and I want people to understand why some guy in Phoenix decided to start selling websites for $199 when he could probably charge a hell of a lot more for them.

It wasn't because we decided websites aren't valuable anymore. It's because the technology finally gave us the ability to provide substantially more value for substantially less money, and I couldn't find a good reason not to pass that advantage along to the customer.

There is nothing else I've seen that does exactly what we've built here at this price point. The older technologies that come remotely close are, from what I've seen, pretty bad by comparison. What we're offering here is actually pretty amazing for the money. I don't know how else to say that without sounding like I'm bragging, but if we're going to be blunt and honest about what you're looking at, that's what I believe.

So just understand that the guy behind this cares about every dollar that comes his way. I've tried to pack as much bang for the buck and as much actual value as I possibly can into this project. And if you ever want to talk to the person behind it, I'm available. You don't have to wonder who built this, why we built it, or whether anybody on the other side actually gives a damn. I do.

What we did about it

Instead of participating in a cash grab like many of the other companies out there utilizing AI technology, we have spent the better part of 2026 learning how to utilize full-stack, AI-assisted website technology in a way that brings down the cost of quality, indexable websites for every small business that needs one.

We have now taken yesteryear's $5,000 projects and brought them down to below $500. We've taken yesteryear's $1,000 projects and brought them down to $199. And guess what? The quality of what we're building today for $199 compared to what you would have spent $1,000 on two years ago, or even a year ago, is night and day.

From the mobile version to the desktop functionality to the ability to upgrade and expand, it's just not the same industry anymore.

The WordPress "you can move it" pitch

If you're working with a company that's trying to sell you WordPress because they say you can own and move your files, understand that I used to make that same argument. It was one of the biggest selling points. You don't want Wix. You don't want Squarespace. You don't want Shopify or another closed platform. You want WordPress because if you don't like your host, you can take your files and move somewhere else.

Well, you can do the same thing with a full-stack, AI-assisted website. And the crazy part is that the website can literally tell you the instructions for how to move the damn thing.

So don't fall into the trap of believing WordPress is automatically superior because you can move your files. You can move the files for any of our websites and redeploy them wherever you'd like, on a server of your choosing. We simply provide a fair price and an incredible level of ongoing service because we want to earn your business every month after we've built your site.

We have also done extensive research on the industry and best practices, reviewed our contract language, and built what I believe is the most comprehensive website design, custom hosting, and legal language repository in the country, right here in Phoenix, Arizona.

I know what went into it because I built it myself, and I'm proud of it.

My ask

What I'd ask is this: before you commit thousands of dollars to another website company, take a look at what we're doing. We now have done-for-you website options that can get a business online in less than five minutes. Designs can be tweaked. Fonts can be changed. Images can be replaced. Color palettes can be swapped. The website can evolve with your business.

There is no point in continuing to dump thousands of dollars into outdated technology that could ultimately do your business more harm than good.

Our sites come off the line technically optimized for Google and structured for the new world of AI-driven discovery through platforms like Grok, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others. The page structures, schema, technical foundation, and content architecture are built with both traditional search engines and AI systems in mind.

We spent a lot of money learning how to do this correctly because we didn't want to continue charging people thousands of dollars to optimize a WordPress website that they were already promised would be optimized when it was built.

So I humbly ask you to put your trust in my agency and our custom website builder for your lower-cost, immediate website needs. And if you need something bigger, take a good look at our custom builds and see what a $5,000 website should actually buy you in 2026.

Thank you for reading.
